Are You Wasting Away At Your Job? Good For You!

My professional story, the last few years of it at least, is pretty much like the majority of full-time working adults. You get excited about getting your new job, you cannot wait to implement your ideas, and beam with excitement.  And then slowly but surely you start working more hours than you can account for, see your salary freeze or decrease {insert bonus, commission, benefits, or other promise of choice here},  see your ideas being passed up only to hear how great they are when your boss brings them up, see your health decline and a slew of equally satisfying moments. Been there, done that. And I put up with all of it for a long time, because that’s what you are ‘supposed’ to do, and what a job is ‘supposed to be like.’ What about claiming your independence and actually living life? Well, you are an adult, so toughen up and deal with your job.

I went along with the crazy game until one particular day. I remember it clearly. I was sitting at my desk at work. My husband called me to see how my day was going and I said: “Here I am wasting away at the office.” I immediately gasped in horror. I was in my mid-thirties, I had always been a go-getter, responsible as can be, and yet I was stuck in a succession of jobs and life that honestly sucked. And yet, I did it every day, 5 days a week.  For years.

You can say I had enough. I realized that nobody would come to my rescue and build the life I wanted for me. I realized that no matter how many times I changed jobs and tried again, what was actually going to fulfill me and support me in serving others was not in the corporate world.

What happened next is what you could call “pressing fast forward on speed.” It started with a dream of becoming an entrepreneur, a ticket to a trade show out of state paid with air miles and a presentation on an iPad, and grew to include clients in Spain, Canada, Argentina, the UK, and the US. All because I said I could and worked on my business setup religiously.

Fast forward to today. I built a new life, found freedom and realized what is possible. I am continuously reinventing myself as I grow. The beauty is, you can too with my Fast-Track to Freedom, It is completely free so why not download it today!
